Happy Canada Day!

Even though our country isn't perfect today is a good day to remember and be grateful for the rights and freedoms we have. Happy Canada Day everyone!

"I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think is right, free to oppose what I think is wrong, or free to choose who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind."

- John Diefenbaker (Canadian Bill of Rights)

Happy Canada Day to you! Are you doing any festive things?

Considering all the crap that goes on in the US and other countries I'm incredibly grateful to live here!
Nothing too festive going on around here...Durham apparently celebrates Canada on the Saturday before Canada Day? I watched a documentary on Netflix called "Helicopter Canada" and made Dan play The Canadian Trivia Game. Oh and I got a Tim Hortons coffee. Did you do any exciting Canada Day things?
Doesn't sound like you had too bad of a day :)

I was supposed to go visit Sarah and see her place yesterday but I overslept and was running super late and she wasn't having the greatest day and wanted to get to bed at a decent time for work today so we decided to reschedule for some other time. So instead I went for a nice leisurely walk and picked up a felafel sandwich from a Lebanese place (well I guess the fact that we're multicultural does make that a Canadian thing :p ). Then Garron and I hid out in our apartment and played a board game (Lords of Waterdeep). We both hate crowds and it was hot, and I'm still not a fan of loud noises so I generally avoid fireworks. So basically we avoided Canada Day but still had a good time.
