Terry Doyle died last night and I think I'm still in shock. He was only 71 years old and the sweetest funniest little old man you'd ever meet. He played Maurice in the original cast of Beauty and the Beast in Toronto. I didn't know him really well, but I knew him to speak to...and he actually recognized me this year! Other years, due to being a little older and meeting so many people, whenever he saw me he'd ask me my name and then tell me he had a grand-daughter named Rebecca. On the "bright" side...he died doing what he loved best. He suffered a heart attack in the middle of his duet with Belle at HCP and died instantly...on opening night. When he walked out onto the stage everyone applauded before he'd even done anything. What a way to go. He had come out of retirement to play this role and when I saw him at the theatre a few weeks ago he told us how excited he was about being onstage again. The theatre will never be the same. Rest in peace, Terry.
On to a more happier subject. Tonight I finally got to see Oklahoma. 'K, guys may not like it (stereotypical guys...and I know you're all trying to break the mold, but don't even start with me...I know the truth) but it was AMAZING! I loved every minute of it. If you're not musical person or if you don't like feel-good story lines that are...well, let's face it...chick flicky...then you wouldn' t like it. But it get's a hearty two enthusiastic thumbs up from me. Wow. Oooooooooooooooooooooklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plains!
Moving on...I have now transfered all my Seinfeld episodes onto cds so you know who is pretty happy. Or at least, he should be (pointed look).
Well, I have to get up tomorrow and though I'm a little wired right now I do need to get some sleep (I was at the theatre until 11 last night calling people to tell them that the shows today were cancelled due to a medical emergency...people are SO stupid! and insensitive and selfish and...a;iosdfjkioaeti...).
Anyway, I hope everyone had a happier weekend than me!
